Become A Direct Support Professional!

Direct Support Professionals provide a variety of care and support services to the individuals we support who live in their own homes. Direct Support Professionals may also provide support in our Adult Day Services program.

Some of the services you may provide include assistance with household tasks, including laundry and cleaning, bathing and person hygiene care, medical care tasks including medication administration, meal planning and preparation, assistance with eating, and transporting the person to and from medical appointments and community events.

To be a Direct Support Professional with Creative Connections, you must be over the age of 18, have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, and have a safe vehicle, valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of valid automobile insurance. You should be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and be able to carry, push, pull, bend, transfer, stoop, and walk safely.

You will undergo a state and federal background check in accordance with rules set by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. 

Direct Support Professionals complete an intensive training program as a new hire, and annual training thereafter, as required by Ohio law.
